Each month over 700 newborn babies leave Las Vegas Valley hospitals and go home to little or nothing. They might be wrapped only in their father's shirt. They will sleep on the floor, in a basket, or in a drawer. Cold babies are more likely to become sick, and perhaps have to return to the very hospitals they recently left. Angels In The Valley provides hospitals with going-home layettes containing a new outfit and blanket to keep these precious babies warm. Sadly, some babies won't be going home. Born too soon or with health issues, these tiny angels need only one outfit. It is so comforting to the parents to have their babies beautifully dressed as they say their first hello and last goodbye. Angels In The Valley provides gowns, hats and blankets for these little ones. Some of our gowns are only 8" long! YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVES! OUR NEXT MEETINGS When: Saturday, January 31st and Saturday, February 21st Time: Noon - 4 PM NEW Location: St. Rose DELIMA Hospital - Annex Building 102 E. Lake Mead Parkway Henderson, NV 89015
Bring your sewing machines! We will learn by doing! We are updating patterns and standardizing fabrics and colors, so even if you've sewn layettes before, this is the meeting to attend. By the end of the meeting, everyone will have made an outfit for our inventory and learned how to get the corners of the tiny wraps to meet "just right". Please bring your sewing machine, scissors, pins and an extension cord, if you have one. We will supply the fabric. The annex building is accessed by the driveway at the east side of the hospital, not the main entrance. Drive all the way to the back of the parking lot, and park on the left side. The annex is the small, white, one-story building behind the hospital. There will be someone in the rear of the parking lot to guide you to the entrance and help carry your sewing machine. Please RSVP for your preferred date, as space is limited!
